Not crazy about the design (or what looks like a dozen designs rolled into one), but nice to see another tall one going up in the queen city.

The same comparison was made 1 page ago, so it's assumed you had more insight to add. Plus, the blocky Montreal proposals posted don't look Torontoesque at all. Otherwise, you're right, it's a silly assertion.

This Montreal office proposal looks very similar to this Toronto office proposal.

I believe the Hotel portion is in the shorter part of the building and the lower floors of the tower.

I believe it will include two floors of the tower above the shorter section aswell.

Yeah the design isn't all that great but come on, it's Regina guys let's just be happy they're finally building again haha

Construction is suppose to begin on Homewood Suites in Hamilton soon. Excavation has begun and the crane that was at the Staybridge Hotel is now at the Homewood site.

It's just the use of the various lighting that makes it look a little bit 'too much.' Take that out and I think it would look pretty standard.

I'm actually happy they moved away from the Vancouver's aqua blue glass.

Keep in mind that the building ends at the tower. The building to the right of the tower is an existing office building (that looks nothing like that). So I think the rendering is a bit confusing.

Even then, I can see what you are getting at. Although this is a step up for Regina. Certainly better than any proposal in KW! Wouldn't you agree good sir?

Well there you go. But yes, lighting accents like that are terrible.

As for KW, I'm not so sure. The RED Condo in Waterloo (although not comparable in height) is a pretty nice looking building. And the City Centre condo in Kitchener is pretty nice too.

I like Red, other than the facade at the corner. It's overpowering and dominates the building. But again, not sure they are really comparable given one is a mid rise and the other a high rise.

Not a fan of the CCC in Kitchener. Obviously great that they are bringing residential to the core, but the building is too boxy for my liking. Especially the portion above the parking entrance - looks like a poorly executed addition.

I do like one50 King. Don't know what's going on with that though.

A rendering for a pair of lowrise infill buildings on Clyde Street in Halifax was released today. The design is somewhat preliminary and has not yet been approved. Hopefully it will be cleaned up a bit (it looks completely different from another rendering released a couple of months ago). It seems to include coloured balconies, which have become a bit of a fad in Halifax lately.

It's going to be built in a busy part of town. The development site is the two parking lots on the left, behind the green house which I assume will be torn down. It is great to see these old parking lots in prime locations developed. Over the next few years I think Halifax will lose a lot of its shabbiness and "small town" feel.
