I wonder if they will go to that big film production facility being planned at Tara Field in Henry County.

Most likely they will probably build a new facility.

Apparently One Museum Plaza is back on, from a different developer, and it will be redesigned. Plans now call for a hotel topped by condos, with a separate condo tower. There is still a planned art gallery in the building.

^ I thought our high-end market was pretty well saturated now with Loews and W.

And isn't St. Regis struggling?

Opening 2012, that means they expect that the current saturated environment to no longer be saturated by then. If financing is lined up, this is a done deal right, when does construction begin, bring it on!

Well that depends. If he happens to find a hotel to fill it, then theres probably a chance it will be built. I suppose we'll have to see.

My guess is that the hotel portion, especially across from the High, would make it a more likely proposition. The few condos on the top (I think it said 25 or so) is not the best idea at this point, but essentially the hotel can pay for the amenities that they would be building for the condos anyway. I would guess the other condo tower would be built later. Instead of being "understandably priced from $2 million," these are going for slightly less, 700k - 1.2 mil. Not great, but certainly more palatable.

I agree. Not to mention, it looks like a suburban development straight out of 2001.

At least we have something to complain about now?! right?? lol

I read earlier today that W is being saved from foreclosure by a court order.. The article stated that only 1...ONE of the 74 units has been sold.

The Regis is doing well, you might mean the Maison.

"James has more than 25 years of experience in the broadcasting industry. In 1999, James co-founded Major Broadcasting Cable Network (MBC Network), which changed its name to Black Family Channel in 2004. In addition to James, it was co-owned by lawyer Willie Gary, former baseball star Cecil Fielder, entertainer Marlon Jackson, and former heavyweight boxing champ Evander Holyfield."

Co-owners of this development company include Cecil Fielder (who gambled away every dime he earned) Marlon Waynes (a comedic actor whose made as many bombs as successes), and Evander Holyfireld (need I even explain his lack of investment common sense).

Not only will this never get built this should have been posted on April 1st.

Does anyone know what is going on at 10th street. All I could find was this link from the midtown alliance: http://www.midtownalliance.org/Documents/CityscapesMAP_June2009.pdf

There is no mention of the bridge itself being replaced. However, the way the work is progressing looks identical to the way the bridge replacements of 5th and 14th looked. I drive past 10th street bridge every day and just got curious. I would appreciate any insite that anyone may have!

Thanks

So you guys don't think it'll happen because of the investors? I'm not sure how much money they have but to be a co owner of something I woud think you have to have some money to put in right?
From what I read the guy already has financial backing for the project, already has a deal to buy the property, and from that thumbnail has some kind of design. I'm not a fan of the design but if you own the property, have financial backing to build what you want to build, why would there be 0 chance of this getting built?

I haven't heard of any planned work on 10th. I've ridden it frequently these past few weeks, and there's no construction happening along 10th at all.

Note that the Ponce & Peachtree and North & Peachtree work is supposed to also be happening now, and yet nothing is.

As far as I can tell, this is just streetscape improvements, similar to what's happened between Pershing Point & 15th St. There's nothing planned for the 10th St. bridge, though I'd love another widening like on the 5th St. bridge.

Sorry I meant under 10th. When on the connector as your driving under 10th there seems to be some sort of prep work going on. It just looks similar to the prep work that they did at the 5th street bridge before they replaced it. I'll try to get some pictures on my next day off. I just haven't heard any word on the 10th street bridge being replaced. Thank you for responding though.
