[Whistler] Athlete's Village/Cheakamus Crossing | u/c

Cheakamus Crossing is a unique and exceptional neighbourhood designed with both the needs of the local community and the environment in mind. One of Whistler’s most talked-about Olympic legacies, the neighbourhood is currently being built prior to the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games to house visiting athletes, and will be converted post-Games into a vibrant, local community with a diverse housing mix and front door access to countless recreational opportunities and neighbourhood conveniences.

There are a ton of photos on the website, but I grabbed a couple myself this weekend, having never been in the area. It is huge, and there is room to do even more. Quite something.

Bridge over the Cheakamus River

Entrance to the development

A couple more random shots

Check out the website though, I wasn't able to get in there to take anything more detailed/in-depth due to ongoing construction and security.

Really, this thread should be in the BC/Alberta section but we'll keep it here for now.
