Knoxville, TN (Sequoyah Hills Neighborhood)

As I was attending my friend's graduation from UT, I did not have time to take a lot of photos in Knoxville. You can find some more photoshere that I posted from a trip I took in January 2008.

Most of my pictures were taken in the Sequoyah Hills neighborhood of Knoxville, just Southwest of downtown and the UT campus. Very weathly neighborhood and one of Knoxville's oldest. There is a great walking/running trail along the main road (Cherokee Blvd), near the Tennessee River. The neighborhood also has it's own school and library. Very nice place.

This first one reminds me of Cameron Frye's house from Ferris Bueller's Day Off

That's Knoxville. The "Nashville" is a link to his Nashville photo thread.

Anyway, nice shots of Tennessee's third largest city. We don't see enough of it. It's good good bones.

nice pics of my hometown. i almost grew up in sequoyah hills (parents almost bought a house there.) there's a lot of nice old houses, but the yards are a little too big, almost suburban feeling. give me 4th and gill instead. or a nice old neighborhood elsewhere.

Yah, it isn't exactly an "urban" neighborhood. Pretty isolated between the bend of the river and Kingston Pike. You couldn't really walk to anywhere else (not that there are too many sidewalks ANYwhere in Knoxville). But, it is still a nice place to drive through on an afternoon.

Thanks!!

Thumbs up Great Photos!!

I love the Sequoyah Hills area! It might be my favorite place in Knoxville to take friends & relatives when they come to town for the first time. I love the nostalgia look with the older large trees and older homes.

The park down there by the river is awesome too! You just have to watch your step with all the dog POOP on in the grass!!

I wish Knoxville would look into more high-rise development with all the urban renewal they keep talking about downtown. Do you have any idea when the Sentinel Tower will be starting construction?
