i think we all can agree that collectively we can do much better with those living with addictions and mental illness, especially those who live on our streets.

and lets just leave it at that.

Still the fact here is the very statement you just wrote, you singled out " the homeless "
believe me when the Olympics take place, I dare you to see its fairness, I guarantee that You or I will be politely summoned to move or act accordingly, however the same process will not be so for the homeless, it will have no bearing in the police behaviour, but to forcefully without compassion removed kicked and even shoot to kill if a homeless with Parkinson has the unfortunate jest to not comply or what happens if the person is deaf or mute.
No one thinks of the illness that plague this segment of our society.

... what am I supposed to call them? Shelter-challenged? Outdoor urban dweller? Mortgage-free-living? Residentially flexible?

The whole article is about "homeless" people.

Pretty sure the police won't go around chasing people in their wheelchairs tasing them every few feet until they are beyond the barriers.

I still don't understand why people are up in arms about this. This is a security issue that applies TO EVERYONE. Wether you're homeless, millionaire, old, young, it doesn't matter. Who knows, they may not even have to remove anybody as was stated before, these security zones are not really homeless hotspots. All they're saying is if people ( homeless or not) try to stay or enter these areas during the games, they will be asked to leave. On top of that, if these people happen to be homeless they will also be OFFERED a place to stay, but they don't have to go to there. It's not as if they're being shipped away. If they refuse to leave the area, they will be arrested. JUST LIKE ANYONE ELSE WOULD BE. How is that unfair???

Too bad they can't make the whole city an excluded zone. I'm sick of the homeless fouling our streets, leaving human excrement in doorways and our parks. If you can't afford to live in Vancouver then move. There's a thousand an one cheaper Canadian jurisdictions to live in.

But there's also 1001 who won't give as many handouts.

Hence, our problem
