Nice photos! I've been to Nîmes. Unfortunately I remember very little of the city, but it looks nice from the pics you posted (it was 9 years ago that I visited). What I do remember is the old Roman amphitheatre. We were able to climb up & down different areas inside the arena to check out the views from the upper edges to the lower areas. It made the experience much more memorable and I ended up really enjoying my visit there. Pont du Gard was also pretty cool.

I think the better day to visit Arles it's Saturday the day of the market, a typical provençal market.
