First one:
Ok, if I could chose my dream office tower, it would be this, right up beside shangri-la. roof height is 201.5. exactly 660 feet. the spars on the roof extend another 33 meters up apiece, finishing the absolute height off at 234.5 meters. whether the city woud go for that or not I dunno, but I think the demand for office space would convince them to give it the thumbs up. for those that complain vancouver lacks colour, this is a very dark red for a reason. It would sit across Thurlow from Shangri-la, and is orientated to disrupt the least amount of mountain views when viewed from Cambie street bridge (but who cares about viewcones, honestly)
its 42 meters wide, so i hoep to fits...
Ariel, looking down on what would be the Thurlow-Alberni intersection.
Ground view from down Georgia, standing beside the 1153 parking massacre.
Another crazy ariel
another view of Thurlow-Alberni intersection, this time right on the corner.
I liek it. I was amazed I only had to use three simple shapes to create such complexity. I got inspiration from the simplicity of Bentall 5 (especially its teardrops), Sears Tower for the massing, and a crazy pic of a visionary 650 meter tower in Australia for the dark blood red colouring and antenna's.
Credit also has to go to 1 Wall Centre for the initial shape.
Not completed yet, but this should give a rough feel of what is to be expected.
who likes the red colour? was thinking a bit darker. Also need a better roof colour, black/ dark grey?
