Ah yes, you're right. Yeah, I don't think that building exists currently. It's probably Aura, because the other contender, 15 Charles East, would be much further to the right.

Kind of nice that the 60s/70s CDB remains highly visible from a few key angles. I guess it's really just Toronto where the CBD has been near completely obscured in large part due to its distance from the shoreline.

Sometimes you see comments on SSP about how Vancouver is a blob of generic Yaletown type condos, but it's really only from certain angles, primarily from the south, and even then there are now some landmark buildings like Vancouver House or One Burrard Place to break it up.

On top of that the mainland side is starting to get prominent buildings as well.

I also think Vancouver is underrated for its historic architecture, although admittedly a lot of it is in poor shape and not so pleasant to explore because it tends to be around blighted areas like the DTES.

At that height (a bit taller than Aura) and with the diagonal slash, it can only be Concord Sky, but the roofline is facing the wrong way. While innocuous, I don't see the purpose of adding a phoney like that, unless it is clearly represented as a future render.

Yeah, I meant Concord Sky. I apparently made the same mistake twice!

It's from the Concord Sky thread on UrbanToronto. A poster named kris made it to represent how it will impact the skyline. I think the roofline is correct - the higher part of the slope should be to the south.

Ah, you're right. Mea culpa. It still seems slightly off, but no matter.

Visible from Queen St in Kitchener's increasingly big-city feel. It's an unbelievable contrast from 10 years ago.

Ottawa skyline pics from above Lansdowne Park.

Looking north towards Downtown.

Looking west towards Dow's Lake.

The stadium looks good there.
I assume that is the new arena construction site ?

Just a shout-out to those posting all the great photos from all over the country - Thank-you.

Yes, the arena will go at the east end of the stadium where they are moving dirt. Once the arena opens, they'll tear down the north side stands and the old Civic Centre (to the right) and build a new set of north side stands. The final phase will be two towers on a retail podium with a multi level parking garage between the podium and the stands.

Yes, it's very wall-like. The original design, called YSL Residences, appeared much nicer (based on one not-very-revealing render). This project is a classical example of The Toronto Cheapening™. YSL was 98 floors and, I can't remember, 1,150 ft or thereabouts.
However, the pic I posted is, reportedly, not what is being built. Apparently, the white framing, which at least imbues it with some aesthetic distinction, will be gone, and instead the tower will just be a blue-glassed monolith. I sure as hell hope it doesn't turn out like some of the other, awful renders, or it will be a massive eyesore.
