Daxin Building in Chongqing - A Building That Doesn't Exist

Did you something know about Daxin Building in Chongqing? (link below)

https://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=9460

This is a cancelled project of 195-meter tall, 45-storied skyscraper in Chongqing, China. It was scheduled for completion in 2000. Screenshot with more data about this building is below:

However, some websites (like CTBUH), specify, that building actually "exist":

Or even more absurd, the Wikipedia article about Chongqing's tallest buildings says, that Daxin Building was the the tallest Chongqing's building during 2000-2004:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_buildings_in_Chongqing

Until 2024, SkyscraperPage also specified Daxin Building's status as "built". Later it was changed to "cancelled".

I am a real Chinese, and I can tell you responsibly that there is no Daxin Building (like Heze drew it) in Chongqing. In addition, the data on CQ on CTBUH is very inaccurate, if you want to know more, please register for the gaoloumi.cc forum account

China is full of buildings that previously believed to "exist", but later, they revealed to be just plans and it's unknown, did construction of these buildings ever started. They have either "cancelled" or "stale proposal" status on SkyscraperPage (but previously had "built" status). They include:

1. Winsan Plaza in Nanjing, Jiangsu (cancelled)
Links: https://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=16728 - a plan for 55-story office tower
https://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=16923 - a plan for 35-story residential tower

2. Nanfang International Hotel in Shenzhen, Guangdong (cancelled)
Link: https://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=34621 - a plan for 208-meter tall, 53-story hotel tower

3. World Trade Commerce City in Nanning, Guangxi (cancelled)
Link: https://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=24869 - a plan for 218-meter tall, 66-story mixed-use tower

4. Dalian Trust and Securities Tower in Dalian, Liaoning (cancelled)
Link: https://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=75411 - a plan for 200-meter tall office tower, was replaced by 231-meter tall, 51-story Huajun Financial Center, that was completed in 2022.

5. 57 Jingshi Road in Jinan, Shandong (stale proposal)
Link: https://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=16936 - a plan for 156-meter tall, 42-story office tower

6. Bende Mansion in Dalian, Liaoning (stale proposal)
Link: https://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=21915 - a plan for 36-story office tower

7. Overseas Chinese Building in Chongqing (stale proposal)
Link: https://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=24916 - a plan for 32-story residential tower

8. Tianjin Trade Center in Tianjin (cancelled)
Link: https://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=21669 - a plan for 55-story office tower

9. Nanchang Xiqi International Hotel in Nanchang, Jiangxi (stale proposal)
Link: https://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=171022 - a plan for 186-meter tall, 38-story hotel. It's Nanchang's fake "tallest building" during 2006-2011. Old link is https://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=26884, now redirecting to a real building called ICBC Jiangxi Branch New Business Tower, a 198-meter tall, 42-story office tower.

10. Shenli Plaza in Qingdao, Shandong (cancelled)
Link: https://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=17071 - a plan for 213-meter tall, 56-story tower.

Such examples are a lot in all of China...
