So it's not screwed into the new joint's concrete as is - they had to carve out asphalt and then maybe widen the concrete base to screw into.
I think the worse bumps were the ones going over those interlocking metal joint covers.

There's a Google Maps streetview update with some guy on a bike from August in the bike lane. And the May 2021 update shows what it looked like when they were making those joint repairs.
