If the NCC hadn’t been most active in the bulldozer era of the 50s and 60s Ottawa would have gotten all sorts of interesting places.

OMG WOW! I hope that this is the actual plan and not just some fluffy marketing idea open to value engineering, or over-safetyfied.

This is the exciting document:

Can you imagine this being built as depicted without 8-ft tall anti-jumping fences?

Woah. I'll believe it when I see it. Although it's NCC so I'm hopeful.

Those stilts don't seem realistic though.

I doubt the glass platform will make it to reality. Most places that have this have proper surveillance. The construction of the ramp looks very vague and simplistic. If anything, structurally it would probably be closer to how the bridge from Major's Hill Park is supported.

I hope this happens, I would be a great water taxi stop for sure.

Anything close to this will be awesome. Prior to Kiwiki point opening up one of my favourite spots was the look out by the West Block over top of the washrooms. Will be cool to have another vantage point to look over the water and Gatineau.

Current situation. You can see the stairs next to the wall. Seems like the entire lower level from the renders would be under water at this water levels.

No doubt. I'm sure they'll come up with a resilient design like they did with the Hull side of Zibi.

Was just describing this project to my wife the other day from the same vantage point. Shes like.. what a road??

No silly.

I just emailed here this thread so she can get a better idea.

Oh.. and explaining the damage to the overhang of the uh.. alien saucer for lack of a better description was certainly an interesting conversation.
