Maybe they'll let people ride it from Chinatown for a run out to Surrey and back?

Might match with them stating the 11AM time is approximate

That third platform sure comes in handy from time to time...

Probably because the 3rd platform is not handicapped accessible.

They could take the train to the third platform at Stadium—Chinatown from an accessible platform like Waterfront.

Not if the train that they're traveling there to see is already sitting at the platform...

Watched the media event on YouTube and it sounds like they started at Waterfront and then took the train to the third platform at Stadium—Chinatown for the media event.

So what I suggested might happen is exactly what happened.

Well someone on CPTDB said it went from Stadium-Chinatown to the Waterfront public media event and then on a service run to Surrey.

The public event was scheduled from 11AM - 1PM
The YouTube livestream (currently at 3:28PM) says it was started five hours ago and it was a 30 minute stream.

Seems more likely the press conference started around 10AM and then the Skytrain was sent to Waterfront for the event.

That is presumably so they can show the transfer at Broadway-City Hall when the Broadway extension opens.

Although they're going to be pretty crushed for space when the Langley extension also needs to show up on that same map... The branches of the Canada Line are already looking rather questionable, and people were commenting that Joyce-Collingwood and Oakridge should theoretically line up as well

Confirmation the politicians arrived from the Chinatown media event at 11AM.

The first train rolled in shortly after 11 a.m., carrying a number of TransLink VIPs and government officials. Among them were TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn and federal Housing and Infrastructure Minister Gregor Robertson.

I was there in person and yes the train when it came into Waterfront was full of people.

And I also can confirm the first public run of the train had no A/C.

When I walked through at the open house, the A/C was blasting and felt great!

What bus route would you say has the worst riders?

I'm going with the 6 because every time I rode on it there were the, um, lower class of people on it. Today there was a shirtless dude and a guy drinking a beer holding an unlit roach in his fingers and they were having this loud conversation.

The 20 for sure. I haven't been on it in 7 or 8 years - used to have to take it for work - but it was like...wow. Probably the sketchiest people outside of the DTES I've seen in Vancouver.

Yeah, I was thinking that they'd be cramped for space once Langley opens, too.
I'd also prefer if Waterfront were shown with the two lines at an angle to each other
or have the oval oriented vertically with the two lines skewed so they do not line up.
A tourist could mistake it for a through running station.
