As someone else said, the unease and even hostility towards Christianity typically comes from people who are from a former Christian background. Not from people of non-Christian faiths, a tiny number of fringe extremists notwithstanding.

These people (the ex-Christians) can indeed be hostile or cringe at stuff like "Merry Christmas" because they are paranoid about offending non-Christians. (Actually they seem to want to get offended for non-Christians, by proxy.)

BTW, I never said the Christians were discriminated against in Canada, only that Christianity was less fashionable and revered than other minority religions are.

I think that's quite true and fairly easy to demonstrate.

How many politicians deplored the Catholic church burnings? There was basically an epidemic of them at one point, and not a peep was heard from the people in power.

Paint a single swastika on a synagogue or put a single pig's head in front of a mosque (both of which are ugly manifestations of hate I agree) and the entire political class falls all over each other to make a statement.
