Since 2007 Alberta has contributed over five times the amounts BC and Ontario have contributed to federal finances.

Carney Election Promise: tax cut of 1% for the middle class.

I think he said only the first tax bracket, which is up to around $55k. This will help lower income workers, but not the middle class PP is targeting.

This does not help those above $55k, if I understood his announcement correctly.

This is bullshit. Federal tax rates are the same across the country. A Quebecker in the top tax bracket pays just as much as one from Alberta, before deductions.

And Manitoba benefits disproportionately from Federal transfers, more so than Quebec on a per capita basis, which has been pointed out a trillion times to you.

The allocation of Equalization payments is based on a measure of fiscal capacity, which represents the revenues a province could raise if it were to tax at the national average rate. Equalization supports provinces that have a lower than average fiscal capacity.
