Winter is finally, almost over. "Almost", because there's still a couple of cold days in the forecast, but beside those it's mostly going to be above zero. This winter wasn't particularly long, but the 6-7 weeks it lasted were quite intense.

I felt an earthquake this morning.
Woken by movement, immediately (1 second after) started counting, "one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand" 4 seconds of movement, looked at the time, it was 5:03am.
My 5th experience in 32 years in Vancouver.

Yeah, funny I woke up sometime around then but went back to sleep almost right away. My unconscious self feeling the quake?

Is that the third in the last couple of weeks?

-5C with a wind chill of -11 and mainly sunny. Another below normal day.

Morning however was something else... -22C (wind chill of -25) with clear sky. That is the coldest temperature recorded in March since 2007.
Absolutely sick of it.

The warmspot was Pemberton, BC at 16.5C.

Warmest low was Osoyoos, BC at 7.9C.

Big White has had a lack of major storm systems since December, the snow pack isnt great but there is some in the forecast and temps are holding around the freezing mark for the extended forecast next week.

IIRC, January 9th we had a snowfall and we’ve had snow cover since that. Can’t remember the last time snow was on the ground for that long.

Today was one of the coldest days of winter for us. It'll get mild again soon, but winter is unfortunately not over in the land that spring forgot. Surely we'll at least get Sheilagh's Brush (winter storm somewhere around Paddy's Day, you can stretch the distance from March 17th as wide as you need to knowingly nod and say it was so).

3C at noon, then it cooled off a little and we had some snow this afternoon. Was around freezing mark so no real accumulation.

Low of -6C (wind chill of -11) last night.

The warmspot was Lytton, BC at 13.1C.

Warmest low were a couple of places at 7.3C. Herbert Island, Sisters Island, Vancouver Harbour, Vancouver and White Rock, BC all tied at that mark.

11.2 with rain yesterday, heading up to 12-14 today. The ground was able to soak up the rain, at least in my immediate area, though I suspect there is probably flooding to the north and east where the ground is still frozen.
