But you're right. Where one's tastes may fall on the spectrum in between is a unique individual trait and it's impossible to please everyone.
What is a little interesting to me is that my tastes are probably not dissimilar to yours, but I have found when watching sports on TV, oddly enough, they’ll often lead back from a commercial break with ‘beauty shots’ of whatever city the game is being played in, and I have found that collectively, the garish lighting on groups of buildings actually makes the streetscape come alive and look much better than it probably does in the daytime. Maybe not unlike Christmas lights do this time of year… which I also like.

So, for me, bring it on! YMMV.
