I have been through a lot of roundabouts and if you drive on the right you circumnavigate from right to left. This roundabout has very large signs directing traffic to the right so is that a waste of signage? (must be temporary until commuters get their bearings)
They could install a monument where these needless signs are located. Also, normal practice is to have the street name at each exit....I assume this will come.
It looks ok but a bit boring. Wish they'd put a monument or art piece in it like they would in Europe. The landscaping is very standard.

yeah, agreed. Still monumentally better than most of the roundabouts in the peninsula. Also what's up with the concrete circling the grass? Not sure what's the purpose of it..

Trucks and busses I believe. Regular sized autos will fit in the lanes but larger vehicles require more space. There may be a more technical explanation.
I suspect the concrete around the centre is to give space to large trucks that have to pass through these, as I believe this will still be a main route to/from the container terminal for some time to come. Long trucks need a larger turning radius than cars and thus would tend to run their rear wheels over the grass if this extra area wasn’t provided for them.
The first development lot has been created. It's labeled on the design maps as Lot "B" and is bounded by Upper Water, Barrington, Cogswell and "Bell's Lane". In my first photo it is in the back right just behind the water truck and goes towards Purdy Parkade. It's owned by Crombie and is ~32'000 sq ft. This is almost identical in size as The Curve on South Park (YMCA). The design guidelines are finished but my educated guess is a ~90m tower of about 320'000 sq ft.
My best guess is Crombie has plans already made for this lot and sometime next year we will see more details. Construction would likely start in 2026 when The Marlstone wraps up.
Roughly the old 'International Place' lot, or what we once called the triangle lands- although it's been squared off with the removal of the ramps.
