Looks like they've removed the gate numbers from the FIDs (it is still in the data returned by the API, however).

Yeah hopefully that’s just a temporary glitch.

Looks like Dreams Take Flight day happened today with an A321. Usually there's a widebody for that.

The year I got to go (eons ago) it was on a 321. For a long time, it was on a 763. It probably depends upon numerous factors such as aircraft availability and the amount of money raised over the past year.

Before my recent flight out I noticed they’re building some sort of dividing wall in the gate 13/14 area.

Maybe it's an extension of the swing gate corridor thereby opening up gate 13 seating to the Transborder side for the winter?

Today's departure count: 82 - including a DL 757 hockey charter to PHL

Sun flights departure count today: 7

Today's cancellation count (so far): 3 - these are all cancelled flight numbers for the same AC tail swap on the 1410 departure

It could allow TB departures to use gate 14 from the gate 12B entrance on the TB side as well.

Separate note, I saw on the Ottawa Aviation page that the YWG AC Jetz charter on Sunday was actually for Springsteen's entourage following the concert in Ottawa on Saturday.

It wasn’t evident to me that the wall extended far enough to allow gate 14 TB usage. As for gate 13 use, isn’t there already a glass partition possible at 14? If so, why not just adjust the TB partition as needed? This wall is/will likely be ugly and will cut off all those windows and natural light.

I guess time will tell as to what’s happening down gate 13/14 way.

Today's departure count: 81, including a Jetz charter to RDU

The Porter Dash-8 numbers as a whole are pretty brutal, even the YTZ operation is sub-50% on aggregate.

Porter
EWR: 8397/19468 = 43.1%
BOS: 5513/13888 = 39.7%

United
ORD: 8004/9010 = 88.8%
EWR: 11073/12454 = 88.9%
IAD: 7747/8900 = 87.0%
August numbers released yesterday, and with it Jazz was added to the numbers for July. Still no Porter E2 numbers for July, however.

DCA: 3598/4560=78.9%

August 2024 US TB numbers from the US DOT. Once again, Porter continues their longstanding tradition of posting exactly one of the Dash8/E2 numbers, but not both. Back to the E2 this month.

I also don't buy Porter's number again, the northbound showed six empty seats all month long, which for August seems pretty unlikely. Southbound was 91%, which is impressive if accurate.

Porter
MCO: 7335/7688 = 95.4%

Jazz
DCA: 3739/4712 = 79.4%

United
ORD: 9885/10762 = 91.9% -- I believe the third daily flight went live at the end of August
EWR: 10634/11756 = 90.5%
IAD: 7485/8550 = 87.0%

I checked MCO's website for the August traffic statistics: https://assets.ctfassets.net/qiecpoxp4bk...df41832d94f49b00fc4bd1da9/pshr202408.pdf

Assuming a 100% completion factor for PD, between YOW and YYZ, their MCO August LF was 92.5% overall, so even if 95.4% isn't accurate, it's probably at worst 88%.

For MCO pax stats by month by airline, scroll down to "Passenger Market Share": https://flymco.com/airport-business/traffic-statistics/

PD overall at MCO in July was 89.2% LF assuming a 100% completion factor.

This bodes well for maybe YOW-FLL going year-round too.

Here's YYZ-FLL for July to September for PD (assuming 100% completion factor - unlikely in September with the hurricanes):
-July: 91.2%
-Aug: 93.6%
-Sep: 86.4%

The August DOT numbers for YYZ/YOW-MCO combined were 97.5, but both directions on YYZ seemed incorrect. But great to see that the numbers aren't that far off overall, especially for summer!

WS’ summer 2025 schedule is coming out and YOW is getting a pretty significant boost proportionally in relation to summer 2024:

YYC: +4x/week to 26x or almost 4x daily
YEG: +6x/week to 13x or double daily most of the week
YYZ: +7x/week to (logically) return YYZ to year-round service

YWG & YVR remain unchanged.

So YEG’s boost alone almost replaces the Flair loss 6x to YHZ.

So I guess the YEG increases that came into effect recently will carry over to the summer. Looks like YVR has been shortened to only run between the end of June and end of August, rather than beginning in May.

Also looks like there was additional YOW-YUL revenue flight today using the Jetz aircraft that brought the Sens home last night

That is a crazy short season for a route you would think would be flown year-round, even if were only 4x weekly in winter.

Today's departure count: 79, including 3H/Air Inuit to YFB (subbing for 5T?). 3H also to YUL, but I assume that’s just a ferry back to base

Sun flights departure count today: 8

Today's cancellation count (so far): 1 - just an AC YYZ tail swap
