20C and light rain in Moncton at 8 AM, going up to 29C (humidex 38) this afternoon.

There is a special weather statement for potentially heavy rain showers this morning, possibly dumping up to 30 mm/hr. This is apparently the same system that flooded Toronto the other day, but, less well organized. Looking at the radar, I think Moncton will probably escape the worst of it.

Cloudy and 22 (humidex 29, dew point 20) at 10:30am. Not hot, but pretty humid. Skies will clear later this afternoon.

Scorcher tomorrow, highs near 28 at the airport expected.

I spent the weekend in the Okanagan, and it was hot. Nice to be back on the coast where it's a little cooler. Already 27c at 10am today though. Should get to 30c.

I always love getting off the plane in Vancouver, smelling that sea air, and feeling that cool oceanic humidity.

My office has pre-emptively closed due to the forecast heat tomorrow. We're an organization with offices across the province, who were already horrified by us getting two weeks of snow days last winter while they were all open. This will definitely add insult to injury lol

Weather is great, no complaints.

34, 34, 34, 35, 33, 35, 32 and the coolest overnight low is 19.

Maybe just one complaint—storms continue to break apart or change direction and just miss before reaching the city limits. I don't think there's been one notable storm to hit the city yet this year. Just some distant rumbles of thunder and maybe a couple of flashes of lightning from a small system passing by—I want some prairie storm action! There's a small chance of some severe storms tonight and again tomorrow but I think most of the big stuff will be in the very southern part of the province.

That feeling x10 at the open-air airport in Maui. Plus all the tropical flowers and plants.

Popsicles on the projects sites are the best. After 2 hours doing a mechanical review getting back in the project trailer and having a popsicle is what was needed. Even though I carry water on site you still need to cool the core. Also some pretty big thunder storms forming to the west.

Am I reading the forecast wrong, or is it going to be 28c in St. John's tomorrow?

No, that's right. We're a foggy, old, British city. Every building is constructed to intake and hold the maximum amount of heat possible. Almost nothing has air conditioning as you would understand it, people are routinely hospitalized, even young and healthy people, when base temp nears 30C.

It was 36C last week in my office when it was 23C outside.

So, tomorrow, it'll probably be in the high 40sC indoors. Hence, building closed.

That's insane. Can't you open the windows, and get a cross draft? Having the inside of your building 13c higher than outside, when outside is only in the low 20s, is madness.

I'd imagine everything built in the last decade or so isn't like this?

I don't know how well we've compensated sorry. But if you know anyone who works in the new Fortis Building, they'd be able to say.

But I can say, with certainty, 90% of our buildings here are the equivalent of your Canadian greenhouses lol It's truly criminal what we expect office workers to live with here. The heavily unionized places are fighting back for the first real, concerted-effort time this year. I'm in management, of course, and wish them the very best and lots of it lol

28C with a humidex of 34 and a mix of sun and clouds. A bit more cloud cover today but decent summer day nonetheless.

Low of 22C (humidex of 30) this morning. At this point, it's a typical tropical night.

The warmspot was Lytton, BC at 42.0C.

Warmest low was Trois-Rivieres, QC at 22.6C.

Metro will know better but seeing Ashcroft with a monthly avg of 26.8C.
I found my list of warmest months in Canadian history.

Sounds like an HVAC installation is in order. It ain't cheap, but summers aren't going to get any cooler either.

Sunny, very warm, bone dry. I think the light thin clouds kept the temps from going higher.

Wednesday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 28 C (33 C w/Humidex), the low was 18 C.
