1. All photos were taken by me.
2. Yes, I'm super late... I took these in January 2007...
just too busy to post them until now.
3. Spent a week in Paris with my cousin, then a week in London with
family ... then was supposed to spend time visiting another cousin in
Amsterdam but I fell very ill and couldn't make it. (hence we now have
a trip planned in October to Amsterdam!
)
4. We landed in Paris in the middle of the Kyrill Super-storm which killed
43 people across Europe and cost millions and millions of Euro to repair
damage (America didn't even notice).... on the morning of our arrival winds
gusted in Paris to 130kph. Needless to say it was the roughest landing
I've experienced in years, but at the very least it was warm a few days
thereafter. The EuroStar was shut down for a few days, but again we got
lucky as it was up and running the day we had tickets to London.

5. I was born in Cape Town, lived in Jo'burg until I was only 5 and then
grew up in Louisiana and have lived in Atlanta and now have been living in
Chicago for nearly 4 years. Even though I'm insane about Chicago and I
love America dearly... I'm a child of the
world . I love
traveling to visit my family who is now on every continent except
Antarctica. South African ex-pats are like roaches, we are everywhere!....

6. I will give neither descriptions nor names for the obvious material....
only a few shots here and there.... and unfortunately they're out of
order I just don't have time to put it all in order sorry.
7. Enjoy... A Tale of Two Great Cities 2007
THE SOUTH AFRICA HOUSE:
(the South African embassy in London at Trafalgar Square...
once a focal point for protests against Apartheid.... now a
symbol of a free, proud, and imperfect nation... notice the
new flag flying proudly at right
)
Paris... the latin quarter... having grown up in Louisiana it
reminds me of a MUCH cleaner and safer version of the N.O.'s
French Quarter...(but too few trees to be the Garden District
)
French Pride.... I love this shot of their flag flying with such vigor!
Pic taken north out of Musee d' Orsay through a clock face
towards Montmartre with the Basilique du Sacre' Caeur in distance.
Our ride... ooooooouuu yea baby....
That puppy gets
up to 185 mph.... eat your heart out Acela....
Zeus... chillin' with his bride... relief of the Parthenon at none other than
our planet's GREATEST museum.... The British Museum.
From left... BA's London Eye (first went up that in 2005.... pretty
damn cool if you haven't done so, you should), Big Ben @ centre...
all along the Thames. I love the cable stayed bridge... a technology
first invented by the Egyptians... juxaposted against Cleopatra's
Needle at far right. Oh.. and the ferris wheel.... a technology
(joyride?) invented in Chicago!
I REALLY love this one... old London City Centre at left... Canary
Wharf skyscrapers in distance... then Tower Bridge at right...
LONDON CALLING!!
(If you are in London... you are being WATCHED... look for the
CCTV camera and smmmmmmmile te hehehehe
)
If you like Tower Cranes... you'll love this one:
Early morning ride on the EuroStar... sun rising behind my shoulder over
the beautiful French countryside....
From the middle level of the Eiffel Tower... the top was closed due to
extreme winds. We literally could "sit" into the wind it was so powerful.
HOPE YOU ENJOYED! AND IF YOU DID... GET OUT AND TRAVEL
ABROAD! There's no better way to show the world that we Americans
aren't a bunch of dumb assholes than to visit other cultures, be
respectful, diplomatic, and polite.... that is.... unless you are an
asshole... in that case stay here. te he
