It's fine. The Domain is going to be fine, really. The whole "second downtown" thing was always bullshit, but as a semi-urban density node, it's really shaping up. Broadmoor is going to make even crazier, too.
I've actually been wondering about Austin's nodes (for lack of a better term) for awhile now. On business trips lately I've been noting the "downtowns" that crop up in the suburban periphery of Chicago and DC -- like Rosemont, Schaumburg, or Oak Brook in CHI, or Reston, McLean, Arlington, or Gaithersburg in DC. If we're going to hit a metro pop of 4M by 2040, we'll definitely need another Domain or two. Where are those?
Robinson Ranch is certainly one for the distant future, but I don't really think I see Round Rock going vertical. Where else?
