I'm looking forward to some serious eating when I get back to Vancouver in 10 days. I have a friend who is a wholesaler of fine European food stuffs, so I basically just follow him around, and eat where he eats. Stoked!
When I lived in Taiwan, it was so exotic to go back home, and eat all these foods that I had little to no access to in Taiwan. Living in Shanghai though,. it's not as exciting. I can find pretty much everything back home here, and in many cases better (French and Turkish food, for instance, is amazing in SH).
