Like an NYC Pudong really.

I'd love to see a megatall or a taller tower than 1WTC in Downtown. But it won't happen, at least not in 10 - 15 years. 1WTC's 'iconic' status is written in stone, sadly. Noone would dare to challenge 1WTC heightwise. We already had a similar discussion with the 22 Thames Street proposal, where developers wouldn't go for the maximum height because 'it would interfere with the WTC'. It's ridiculous and tells you a lot about the taboo of building taller than the WTC. Sure, it will change in the future (out of need mostly), but as I said for now we won't see anything tall (500m+) rise in Lower Manhattan.
The first megatall will mostly likely rise at Hudson Yards / West Side / Manhattan West / MSG. There's enough space there.
