BOISE | The London | 235 FT | 19 FL

New condo proposal for the east side of downtown which, if built, would be the tallest in the city by 12 feet.

Exciting news for Boise! I hope it gets built. Personally, I think the design of the façade is okay, but this sounds like such an impactful project for the city. Here's to hoping this is just the start of many more 330ft plus proposals

Yes, if built, this is the first in Boise to top 100 meters. The Zion Bank building was just shy at 98.5.

There's also a 16-floor building proposed nearby, but the neighbors are complaining that it would block out the sun.

I'm fascinated by the idea of a growing and urbanizing Boise, so I welcome every tower proposal! This one is a stunner.

Just make sure the windows are properly treated so all those birds don't fly into them!

looks like the article got the height wrong, and published this addendum:

Quote:
Correction: an earlier version of this story misstated the height of the building due to a figure on a construction drawing that was misleading. Because of the incorrect height figure, our appraisal of it as the tallest building in the state was not correct and has been removed.
this makes more sense, actually. the rendering doesn't look 325... more like 225, which my guess is what the building's actual approximate height will be. if someone can change the height to just ??? that would be great.

however, if the developer wants to go taller, he can based on this:

Quote:
The parcel for the building currently carries a C-5DD zone, which is the city’s code for the central business district. Its the most-dense zoning classification in Boise, and allows for unlimited height without any special exceptions.
one interesting thing about this proposal is its automated robot parking system:

Quote:
An elevator parking system. The building would include space for 192 cars, which would serve tenants in the building, as well as a building Ludwig partially owns next door.
so... no new tallest for boise for now. still, it's a nice project filling a current surface parking lot, which would be nice.

While it may not be the prettiest building, definitely more density for Boise.

I was very surprised at how active downtown Boise is when I was there in February prior to my deployment. I'll definitely be back to visit in the warmer months.

I did a thing. Sometimes I like making these for other cities just for kicks.

The London is modeled here in Google Earth at 335 feet, and I also included the Idaho Central Tower. I did the main tower at 210 feet, just an estimate, and the shorter 9-story tower at 100 feet.
