Columbus

Greetings from

For my first thread on here, I figured I'd post some of the pictures I've taken of Columbus during my first 6 months at

So, without further ado, heres a sample of what Ohio's Capital City has to offer.

(That dome belongs to an elementary school)

Finally, my by far favorite building here in Cbus, LeVeque Tower:

And, remember no matter where you're from, you can get there on COTA
(But maybe a few minutes later than you'd like to)

Hopefully the first picture isn't your license plate.

^^ wtf is a DUI license plate?

here in alberta, if youre gonna drive drunk, you just have to turn on your emergency lights. anyone caught driving drunk w/o using the lights gets a 50$ fine

In most places in America, including Ohio, a DUI is a minimum 72 hours in jail plus a fine and probation. In addition if you are really young or a repeat offender the judge can award you a set of "party" plates seen in the first pictures that are mustard yellow with scarlet letters... it basically screams, I DRIVE DRUNK.

Think of it as a "scarlet letter" for people who drink and drive.

DUI plates, eh?

I'd seen a few of those around and always wondered why they looked different.

The state is (or was) floating the idea of creating similar, but different colored, license plates for sex offenders.

In Maricopa County (Phoenix, AZ) the fines are about $10,000 plus mandatory jail. If its extreme dui above .15 BAC, 30 days in jail.
