[Halifax] Rockingham Station (205 Bedford Hwy) | 26 m | 8 fl | U/C

Rendering originally from KWR Approval's Presentation to H&WCC

I can't find any existing discussion about this project. It was approved by development agreement last summer by Halifax & West Community Council. It's a 8-storey / 55 unit residential development with ground floor commercial and underground parking at 205 Bedford Highway which is at the intersection of Flamingo Drive. The developer is Pathos Properties Ltd and the architect is Paul Skerry. The development agreement requires 18 units to be affordable housing. The demolition permit for the existing building was issued last week.

I haven't seen any signs of demolition starting up yet but the construction permit for the new building was issued last week. It's for 31 units in 8-storeys.

Here are photos I took a couple days ago. Excavation is complete for now. The ramp still has to be removed.

This is now called Rockingham Station, some prep work has been completed in the last week or so to get ready for concrete.

Maybe a thread title change is in order?

I have to say Rockingham Station makes more sense as a name for this project than "Richmond Yards" does for that other one...

This was a solid development. Went up in a reasonable time, unobjectionable location, etc. Need much more like this in the suburban semi-undesirable locations to bring up those parts of the city.
