They can't even drink the tap water!

I expect higher standards for a building owned by the #5 University in Canada, and according to US News and World Report the #138 globally ranked school out of almost 2,200 ranked in the World.

If I'm not mistaken, it's not owned by McMaster. I thought it was a private developer who entered into a long-term contract with Mac.

They are actually ranked even higher in many of the non American rankings. The American rankings are skewed by taking into account endowments and not just academics.

This building just gets better and better as the cladding goes up...looks a lot like what you would expect to see in NYC and other locations...a hybrid of Mid-Century Modern and current modern designs...

Yeah even I have to admit it looks really good from the outside - lots to look at and admire - not just a box - between this and the bulged design of the glass one in the same block and the other buildings this is probably the most interesting cluster of modern/modern old building fusions in the entire city.

I wish theyd demolish that god awful motel though across from the giant parking lot not too far away from it though - that thing is god awful looking. Feels like an eyesore reminder of the decline of hamilton every time I see it.

Arrival inn my ass..

Let's not get carried away. They building looks great on a sunny day, ON a cloudy day those panels are pretty close in color to standard life and 25 main west. Also the panels continuing right into the mech house make the top look awkward and incomplete.

Uh, brutal.

Fixing contaminated water at McMaster residence means all tenants must leave

Every tenant living at a downtown McMaster residence will have to move out of the premises for six days while crews fix the coliform contamination that has tainted the building’s water supply.

The issue was acknowledged by the university back in December.

Those living in the downtown, 30-storey dormitory at 10 Bay Street South will be relocated to a nearby hotel beginning Feb. 4.

The "gold" angled cladding only covers the entire backside of the building. There are strips where it does not on the western and northern faces. Perhaps that will change, but if it doesn't I'll be a bit disappointed.
