Dr. Weaver took us on a walking tour of Westdale. I believe Westdale was one of the first planned communities. Everything about the architecture of houses was planned. Houses closer to Mac off of Sterling were higher class to appeal to “high society” while you travel south on Sterling and towards King the houses are more simple for the working class.
At the time only anglos were allowed to live in Westdale. Jews and southern Europeans were not allowed.

That is spot on Atnor, I grew on up on Dalewood Cres between King and Sterling...Every Beginning of their(Mac's) year in early September they would have a parade down Sterling and around Westdale Village coming down King St to finish it...as a little kid I would love these parades because many women going to Mac, First Year's mostly would give me kisses on the cheek!
..And a fact then and very much today is that a community carved out in an oval from an inner starting point for white's only has and is home to many Jewish folk, many friends growing up and still today are Jewish..I swear I thought I was Jewish at times.
