I just flew down there and checked it out, via Google Earth Pretty cool stuff in the area. Thanks for info.

American Stores used them when it was their headquarters. 2News also used the helipad for their helicopter, when they still had one.

I don't think they are even used any more

KUTV used to use it when they had their 'Sky 2' Helicopter, which I don't believe they have anymore (due to costs I'm sure).

When we need a helicopter IMMEDIATELY, we can have it land on the helipads at Wells Fargo still, but it's cheaper to go to the heliport in Woods Cross.

Well Fargo Helipad

The Utah National Guard used the helipad for urban combat training "Desert Ice"

My guess, and I know I'm going out on a limb here... That wasn't his first post.

Small Update: After 5 years of dirt, I'm noticing more and more early site work on the Edison Street lot (former Moda Luxe). I'm imagining construction will start properly in the coming weeks

Info on project

I hope the street engagement for this property is great to make up for a squatty little 5 over 1 in such a great tower lot. If it is, it will still be a net positive for the city.

Thanks for the update"ThePriceWentUp"

That reedition of the Edison St looks like it belongs in Sugarhouse, Granary or South Salt Lake.... not in the middle of the CBD

Really cool stuff for sure! I’ve gotten lost for hours in cities flying around in google earth.

The new moda sux is quite unremarkable and underwhelming in terms of height for being near the heart of downtown. Only thing I like about it is the brick facade on the lower floor and possible street engagement.

The updated rendering of the Intermountain hospital on building salt lake is also underwhelming. Same height and a bunch of open space. There’s plenty of open space at the City Hall and Library a block away. Would like to see interesting and engaging buildings built on the Sears lot

The Edison block is one of my favorite parts of the city. It has potential to become a really cool arts district but we keep giving it underwhelming projects instead.

I think "open space" is one of those things that polls well and people reflexively ask for it without thinking about things like street engagement.
