On a side note, does anyone know if Carlton St. is scheduled for a resurfacing after the hotel is built? I've assumed it's been left "as is" until the construction is done, but I could be wrong.

Teachers, big government, crown corps. You are on every thread complaining about the same thing. Why not post in Western Expresso? You and your like are gradually making this site unbearable.
Wonk wonk wonk. So change my opinion with facts. Was it the pcs or the NDP. Crown corps are run separately from the government and should not be influenced by the government.

Over 93m tops Wawanesa and 100 metres or over makes it a skyscraper. I know, internationally 150 metres is the new bar.
my guess is 92m.

Yeah, I think it has more to do with casinos just wanting to look more "sophisticated" nowadays. Look at Vegas. A lot of the hotels and casinos removed or toned-down their themed styles years ago in exchange for a more mature vibe. That aquarium sounded cool, though.

The gate at the hotel site was open this morning, which it isn't usually. I didn't see any actual workers, but it looked like some new kit had been delivered. Heaters, possibly.

I saw no one when I walked up to the fence and peered in around noon. Maybe they were all on the lower level?

We should start a pool, which will happen first, Sutton Place completion or Grump retiring

My dude - I had that 'exact' thought earlier this afternoon!

"Am I going to be around to see this thing finished?!?"

Northlands are in no rush & this is low ;priority for them it seems.
We'll see The Hyatt Centric will for sure open first and possibly a New Westin or similar at 416 Main before Sutton ever gets completed. Maybe Sutton in time for Winnipeg's 200th birthday>? 2073/74?

Renting heaters would imply some intent to do something during the next six months, no?

It’s likely that yes the heaters will be used to heat the basement level(s) so the trades can start working and storing material down there with the cold season ahead.

But when Grump is struck down...(clears throat) I mean retires, he will become more powerful and have more time to devote to picture taking and other force like things.
