Well, no-one saw that coming.

Not only are the Labor party staying on Spring Street, but they're majority just went from 46 to potentially 61 seats (the lower house/Legislative Assembly has 88 seats).

Labor even picked up seats in the Liberal's (centre-right) heartland eastern middle suburbs of Melbourne................right where the Suburban Rail Loop will likely roll through (the Labor party promised to make phase one through this eastern section).

Still many votes to count but it's a big re-election for the centre-left Labor.
