There was a story in the Los Angeles Times recently about the former home of bandleader Ray Anthony coming up for sale.

The photos did not look like the house I remember from the coverage of his big party in 1952 when Marilyn Monroe famously arrived via helicopter so I became curious about the cute little modern house built by engineer Fred O. Reyenga in 1947 for Capitol records executive William Fowler. Upon closer inspection, the original appears to still be there, but swallowed up by a much newer and larger Mission-style house.

It was quite the party. In the video these next two shots came from, Anthony says 500 members of the press attended. I love the idea that 98-year-old Ray Anthony is still blowing his horn in the hills above L.A.
