^ I have heard people say "Ohhhh Arrrr Deee" (ORD) aloud when talking, but that's strictly as a reference to O'Hare airport itself, not the city of Chicago in general.
Curiously, Midway airport is always just plain old "midway", Ive never heard anyone say its airport code (MDW) aloud when speaking.
