Jeff Bowen Bridge, connecting downtown Asheville to the suburban strip of West Patton Avenue in West Asheville, carried 106,000 vehicles per day as of 2018. There were also an average of 124 vehicle wrecks per year, any one of which has the power to paralyze traffic flow throughout the city -- and beyond if it's an especially bad wreck.
