Interesting that east of the Lord Nelson there was what looks to be a park.
In the 80's there was a stairway that went from the Lord Nelson Hotel lobby down to Spring Garden Road, and east of that entrance was The Victory Lounge

I believe that so called park was really the front lawn of a large house - I think I can see a structure in the picture
