PATH is a busy little subway system, but let's not forget it carried even more folks 80 years ago than it does today. It's nearing capacity but not yet at capacity.

There are two schools of thought. One is you have adequate transit infrastructure in place before you allow growth and the other is you're in a react mode, adding transit capacity after existing infrastructure hits critical levels. Obviously the former option makes more sense, but you'll likely be waiting forever. It's the crisis situations that usuallyget the federal funding.

I say build in Jersey City and FTA will be forced to improve trans-Hudson transit capacity rather than funding shitty streetcar networks in Kansas City.
