My favorite part of these community group plans are how woefully out of touch they are with economic reality. Thats what comes from living in rent control apartments for decades--a complete and utter lack of understanding that there are people out there who actually have to pay money to make this city work and grow. An arts center that will pay for itself? Ha! And who is going to pay for the demolition and parkland development? Squirrels have a better grasp of finance than these idiots.

I was thinking of this project recently and how amazing it would be if the towers were clad in corten steel. I doubt that would happen but if so, it would become one of the better projects in the entire city.
