I think this is pretty awesome actually. With glass curtain walls seeming to be the way of the world nowadays, it feels like architects and developers are running out of ways to be creative with new skyscrapers. Playing with the actual surface of the facade is becoming a great way to continue building unique structures. It's what made NY by Gehry great and it's what will make 56 Leonard great.

Before anyone claws my face off for that comment, I still think that NY by G and 56 are top tier skyscrapers, whereas this is merely a decent filler building. It's got character though and there's nothing wrong with that. It'll mingle nicely with the zebra building next door.

They need to keep building here anyway so that they drum up enough incentive for the subway station at 10th & 41st.

...OMG I love how the $1 pizzeria tent-lookin' shit on the corner of 41st and 9th has been left standing and featured in the rendering.
