No city oozes character like Paris, from Le Grande Boulevards and unrivalled grandeur of the right bank, to the narrow lanes, bookshops and cafes frequented by philosophers, writers and artists of the left bank. From the grim suburban concrete tower blocks, to the medieval gothic masterpieces that sit upon the Seine, there is something in Paris to capture the imagination of anybody. A true metropolis, and a city one could tire of exploring, I am thankful to have Paris as a neighbour (being only 2.5hrs from London). This is the first instalment of probably about 4 threads, so without further ado, sit back and enjoy my take on continental Europe's greatest masterpiece....
