When I saw this post I knew the Savannah vs. Charleston debate was inevitable. I have ties to both Savannah and Charleston and have spent a significant amount of time in both cities.
Charleston is more cosmopolitan and Savannah is more old southern and parklike with its beautiful squares. Six of one half dozen of the other. Both are quintessential historic southern American cities.
