The limited height has been increased after Taipei 101 came out. The problem is there are many dapartments are already complete in Xinyi district before they increase limited height. These department projects are limited by original statutory height 45m.

And even the limited height has been increased to 600m, government still give low floor area ratio for Xinyi district, especially the sites near Taipei 101,250% only
How can you build a skyscraper with small site and extremely low floor area ratio.

But I still like the concept of government strategy. They give low floor area ratio for each site, but they also give the bonus for developers, if they have open space and wide pedestrian in their projects.
