Texas Central, a company developing the Houston to Dallas bullet train, has won a four-year court battle that grants the company legal status as a railroad operator and inter-urban electric railway. “This decision is rooted in state law that allows survey access and use of eminent domain by railroads, pipelines, electrical lines and other industries that provide for the public good and a strong economy.” This is the latest green-light in the company's favor that pushes it one step closer to groundbreaking. The rail line, designated by the Trump administration as a national transportation infrastructure priority, already has contracts in place with Spanish train operator Renfe Operadora, Central Japan Railway Company, and Italian civil construction firm Salini Impregilo and its U.S. subsidiary Lane Construction Company.

Houston to Dallas in 90 minutes with a stop in Bryan/College Station. The line is expected to create 10,000 jobs throughout its construction leveling off at 1,500 jobs once complete. What are you opinions on this line and do you think this will set the stage for future American high-speed rail?
