The new "old" plates are supposed to have reflective yellow paint, that's how you can tell the difference with an actual vintage plate.

I've been seeing them here and there on some cars, mainly older cars, but some retro-styled new cars as well, like Mustangs and Chargers. I like the way they look, I wouldn't mind if they made this the standard California plate.

I'm wondering how they'd look on my MINI Cooper...
