Bachelors in Dublin, Husbands in Edinburgh

For the past couple of weeks, around 40 of us have been going mad in Ireland and Scotland for jeddy1989's bachelor party and wedding. Best destination wedding ever.

After the vows, we all split up to go our separate ways - the newlyweds went to the Canary Islands, half their families went to London or Spain, and Joanne and I hurried back to Ireland to stay with friends in Galway. Such a fantastic trip!

It's going to take me a while to sort through all these pictures, so I'll take it one day at a time, literally.

DUBLIN - Day 1

Day one was a lazy one. We got in, exhausted (WestJet moved our direct flight to Dublin to Halifax, so it basically doubles what would otherwise be a short trip for us).

We took the bus from the airport to the Temple Bar area. We went full tourist and got our "hotel" there.

After dropping off our shit, we went to find some breakfast. Not a fan of black pudding, but you can't get good white pudding in Newfoundland. Turns out you can't in the touristy parts of Dublin either lol

Galway Hooker. It's a boat, not a prostitute, but I still love it.

Asked our friend Deanna about the prevalence of Irish. For some reason I found her answer hilarious: "Everyone says they can't speak it, but really everyone can to some extent. They all know at least a joke. They're certainly better at it than the average anglophone Canadian is at French."

I found a Paddy Daly look-a-like. Dublin was weird for that. Saw a half dozen women who looked like Joanne, another like my ex, etc. Genetics is a strange beast.

First day was a lazy travel day for all. Half were still in Newfoundland or somewhere en route to Ireland. So Joanne and I had an early evening. But holy shit, what fun was to come...
