re: the looking down at Cresent Hgts, Google street view at 1618 Marly Dr seems the most likely position. There's the partially blocked view, a lonely street lamp squeezed along the curb and corresponding telephone wires above.

The extremely noirish 'Garden of Allah' is located northwest of the two large apartment buildings.
I've tried to locate it in this snapshot but I haven't had any luck....perhaps I need better glasses.
