I lived in Pittsburgh while they were building the stadiums and the riverfront casino. The North Side got beautiful riverfront parks and tree-lined streets. It did not create a community of any kind. mostly low-rise commercial buildings and hotels. I really wish Philly had put aside more acreage while it was thought of as worthless, to form a continuous waterfront park.
