臺北郵局為日據中期之建築,此期之特徵多用褐色面磚

日據當初利用民房當郵局,1898年建於北門街附近,形式為二樓木造建築,當時為考慮與車站(在今鄭州路)之關係才設於北門內。其址在現郵局南鄰,為洋風日本瓦之建築,但在1913年失火全毀,至1926年才重建。主要為I型鋼樑R.C.結構,壁體為2B磚造。
由總督府營繕課設計。立面貼褐色面磚,有柱式及拱窗,光復後拆去入口門廳(Porch),改貼大理石,甚不調和,同時增建一層。

I don't see why not tho? This building was angled at well over 250 degree. Postal trunks entrances were also made on both sides. At least save the front faciae no?
