Agree, Mt. Lee area sounds most likely. The prominent north-south road cutting across the photo pointed towards Palos Verdes Hills is almost certainly Western Av., the cluster of tall buildings on mid Wilshire. The tall whitish building on the right near the B is probably the former Getty Oil Bldg.(22 floors), the blueish building a few blocks to the left (east) on Wilshire the Travelers Insurance Building, also 22 floors. Both would have been there in 1967. The taller (34 floor) Equitable Bldg. across from the Ambassador Hotel wasn't finished until 1969, and the hotel area is blocked by the bush and rock ledge area in the photo anyway, so it is the 22 story Travelers. Across Western from the Getty Oil Bldg. you can just make out the shorter (12 floor) art deco Pellisier (Franklin Insurance) Bldg if you squint, which contains the Wiltern Theater. Banana Louie, not a clue.
