Memphis lands top spot on Forbes travel list

Music and good grub aren’t the only things the city has going for it either. Locals have watched Downtown transform over the last decade. And this year, the University of Memphis made the cut for the U.S. News and World Report rankings for the first time. The Memphis Zoo — consistently listed as one of the best in the country — is an integral part of species conservation efforts here and abroad. In October, Memphis was also named one of the most charitable cities in America. So much for only going to Memphis for “cheap beer and barbecue.”
