That's really interesting. I wonder if the same is true for Montreal and the US cities with big Azorean populations like Boston and Newark.
Incidentally, Montreal's Portuguese population is only about half the size of Toronto's, but it's big enough to see some demographic splits. The Azorean community is concentrated on the Plateau while the mainland Portuguese community is based further north, around Villeray.
